
RAFFAELLA SALVO
Dr. Raffaella Salvo is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist with an outstanding professional and academic career. With a degree in Clinical and Community Psychology and a PhD in Personality and Social Psychology, both obtained from the University of Padua, Italy, she has dedicated her career to studying and treating child mental health, attachment, and trauma. She currently directs the Lifespan Psychology Centre in Perth, Australia. She also serves as a Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, where she coordinates placements and teaches in the Master of Clinical Psychology program.
Her experience includes working with adoptive and foster families, children with sensory and neurodevelopmental disabilities, and supporting parents facing stress or difficulties in bonding with their children. Additionally, she has led multidisciplinary teams and designed mental health training programs for professionals across Western Australia. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment, trauma, and mentalization models, with expertise in techniques such as EMDR and MBT.
Dr. Salvo has also made significant contributions to research in her field, leading studies on child mental health, attachment, and development in children with visual impairments. She has presented her findings at international conferences and is recognised for her ability to integrate theory and practice in clinical and educational contexts.
