
Javier Moran
Javier Moran-Kneer is a Clinical Psychologist from the Universidad de Valparaíso, with a Master’s degree in Adolescent Psychology and a Ph.D. in Psychotherapy from the Universidad de Chile. He holds a diploma in Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnosis (OPD-2) and has training in Mentalization-Based Therapy for Children, Adolescents, and Families (MBT-A, C, and F). He is an accredited MBT-F supervisor by the Anna Freud in London.
He is a tenured professor at the School of Psychology at the Universidad de Valparaíso, where he provides clinical psychology training focused on working with adolescents, young adults, and families, as well as conducting research in clinical psychology.
He serves as Deputy Director of the Translational Research Center on Stress and Mental Health (C-Estres) and is a Young Researcher at the Millennium Institute for Research on Depression and Personality (MIDAP).
Additionally, he is a member of the Advisory Council of the Chilean Children’s Ombudsman and a faculty member of the UNESCO Chair on Well-being, Childhood and Youth, Education, and Society.
Currently, he leads a FONIS-funded project to pilot the implementation of the MBT-F model for early adolescents (ages 10 to 14) diagnosed with depression.
